Mentor Guidance Program

The Mentorship Guidance Program, implemented by Kızılay Impact Investment, aims to connect grant beneficiaries with experienced mentors to help them advance successfully in their respective sectors. This innovative initiative supports beneficiaries in developing their business ideas, establishing sustainable enterprises, and effectively implementing their projects. By building strong bridges between seasoned mentors and emerging entrepreneurs, the program contributes to the creation of sustainable business models.

Objective 

The Mentorship Guidance Program is designed to support the development of entrepreneurs and businesses benefiting from grant support. Its key objectives are:

✔ To facilitate the creation and implementation of business plans
✔ To provide consultancy on financial sustainability and marketing
✔ To help mentees overcome challenges they encounter
✔ To equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary for long-term growth and success

Mentor Selection and Criteria 

Mentors participating in the program are selected with great care. Candidates are expected to meet the following criteria:

✔ Possess proven experience and expertise in relevant sectors
✔ Align with the ethical standards and values of the Turkish Red Crescent
✔ Demonstrate commitment and motivation to engage in a voluntary mentorship process

The program includes mentors with diverse experience across various sectors:

Entrepreneurship & Business Development:Business development specialists, entrepreneurs, business plan consultants, marketing experts, financial advisors.
Agriculture & Rural Development: Agricultural engineers, organic farming specialists, rural development consultants.
Tourism & Service Sector: Hotel managers, restaurant operators, customer service professionals, tourism guides.
Construction & Infrastructure: Civil engineers, architects.
Information Technologies & Digital Transformation: Software developers, digital marketing experts.
Environment & Sustainability: Environmental engineers, recycling specialists, energy efficieny consultants. 
Law & Finance: Lawyers, accountants, investment advisors, insurance specialists.

Mentor Training 

Before the program begins, all mentors receive Mentorship Training to prepare them for the process and equip them with essential competencies. The training modules include:
📌 Fundamentals of Mentorship: Differences between mentoring and coaching, the role and impact of a mentor.
📌 Mentor-Mentee Relationship: Building trust, effective communication skills, ensuring mentor-mentee compatibility.
📌 Mentorship Process and Methods: Goal setting, monitoring progress, and evaluation techniques.
📌 Ethics and Professionalism: Confidentiality, impartiality, and adherence to ethical standards.
📌 Mentoring Techniques: SWOT analysis, mind mapping, and creative thinking strategies.

Mentor-Mentee Matching Process 

Mentors and mentees are strategically matched based on their sectors, business development stages, and specific needs. The process includes the following steps:

Needs Analysis: The business models and development areas of grant beneficiaries are identified.

Matching Criteria: Pairings are made based on the mentors’ sectoral expertise and the mentees’ defined needs.

Introductory Meeting: Mentor and mentee come together to align expectations and outline a roadmap.

Regular Meetings: Progress is assessed through one-on-one or group sessions held at regular intervals.

Mentor-Mentee Relationship Management 

For the success of the program, the mentor-mentee relationship will be monitored regularly. The progress will be tracked through the Mentornity platform, which includes mentors, mentees, and Kızılay Impact Investment team managers, and will be used to facilitate regular follow-ups and mentor-mentee meetings.
